Many boards tend to
meet one or twice a year only for ensuring paper compliance to the Securities
and Exchange Commission’s mandated requirements. Time has come to transform and
activate your “paper board” into a highly functional and effective board that
can bring value to your organization!
The Center for Global Best Practices is
launching an SEC-accredited program entitled, Best Practices on How to Build
a Working Board to be held on Wednesday, December 4, 2019 at the
Marriott Grand Ballroom, Resorts World Complex, Pasay City, Philippines.
This program is highly
recommended for founders, businessowners, board directors who would like to have
a dynamic and highly effective board.
Many start-up
founders and families in business are often at a loss as to how their corporate
boards can truly add value to their businesses. This one-day program will guide
participants on how to run their board and be effective in their participation
in board meetings and other board-led initiatives. Attendees will learn about the seven
fundamental roles of corporate boards, its different approaches and how to best
support or facilitate them. This program is designed to bring value, increase
capability of your current board, to focus and to bring into a new perspective
the internationally benchmarked best practices on good governance.
This training will
feature one of the most senior fellows and an incumbent trustee of the
Institute of Corporate Directors, Atty. Teodoro Kalaw IV – who is also a
Professor of Law at the Ateneo Law School.
He has been teaching corporate governance and intellectual property
management since 2010. He is primarily responsible for creating and developing
ICD’s Governance Framework for Family-Owned or Controlled Corporations and has
counseled and taught such both locally and internationally, with the latter
aspect particularly as a consultant to the World Bank’s International Finance
Corporation.
