There are over 3,780+ large taxpayers and many are not compliant to the Bureau of Internal Revenue Regulation 9-2009 requiring large taxpayers to have a Computerized Accounting System (CAS). This becomes relevant also to the top 500 medium-sized provincial taxpayers in every revenue district which has the equivalent classification of a large taxpayer. To help medium and large taxpayers regarding their compliance issues, the Center for Global Best Practices is launching a program entitled, “ BIR Computerized Accounting System Compliance for Medium and Large Taxpayers ” scheduled on Thursday, June 21, 2018 at the EDSA Shangri-La Hotel, Mandaluyong City, Philippines. With the BIR setting up a special task force called Computerized Systems Evaluation Team (CSET) to monitor large taxpayers, one can expect more enforcement from the tax authorities.
