Effective January 1, 2020: This will impact on all shipment of your import and export!

INCOTERMS refer to international commercial terminologies used by traders, importers, exporters, customs brokers, logistics companies, non-life insurers, bankers in the shipment of goods via land, air, and sea. Embedded in these terminologies are the trade rules that clearly define the seller’s and buyer’s obligations as part of a contract.

The new set of INCOTERMS took effect worldwide on January 1, 2020! These changes will have a tremendous impact on the trade documentation and will have critical implications on your businesses. Understanding these new rules and incorporating their use in sales contracts eliminate the uncertainties, errors and costly mistakes in the interpretations created in trade transactions.

To educate the different stakeholders on this, the Center for Global Best Practices, in collaboration with the International Chamber of Commerce, is hosting a training program entitled "INCOTERMS 2020: Revised International Rules on the Interpretation of Trade Terms" to be held on the following schedules:

          Manila: Tuesday, January 28, 2020
                         EDSA Shangri-La Hotel, Mandaluyong City

         Cebu:     Friday, January 31, 2020
                         Seda Ayala Center Cebu, Cebu City

         Clark:     Tuesday, February 4, 2020

This program will highlight the amendments made and how these changes will affect the relationship between the buyer and the seller.

This special program will feature Singapore-based expert, Victor Tan, who is a certified trainer of International Chamber of Commerce (ICC). He is an authority in the field of trading and banking, and with 15 years of banking experience covering areas of international trade finance, remittances, guarantees, import and export. 

He has worked with various International Banks since 1977 starting with Standard Chartered Bank, Amsterdam-Rotterdam Bank, Bangkok Bank, Royal Trust Merchant Bank and lastly, Barclays Bank, where he was Deputy Head, Trade Finance. 

He also holds a Master of Business Administration degree from University of Strathclyde, UK and is a qualified Life Associate Member of the Chartered Institute of Bankers, London. He will teach you everything you need to know on how to apply INCOTERMS for your business advantage.

This program is CPD-Accredited. Accountants attending this program will earn points. CGBP is also an accredited training provider of the Civil Service Commission. Attendees from the government can earn points for their career advancement and are exempted from the Php 2,000-limit, when attending training conducted by the private sector based on DBM circular 563 dated April 22, 2016.

BIR Computerized Accounting System Compliance for Medium and Large Taxpayers

There are over 3,780++ large taxpayers and many are not compliant to the Bureau of Internal Revenue Regulation 9-2009 requiring large taxpayers to have a Computerized Accounting System (CAS).
